About Midlife Transitions Psychotherapy
A Gathering Place For Change
Naomi S. Lufkin, MA, NCC, LPC

In 1999, I changed the path of my professional life. After attending several workshops that addressed the journey of one’s life, I decided to go back to school. I ended my career as a business owner and began studying for a Master’s Degree in Counseling. As a midlife woman, I felt that my life needed to take another direction. It was no accident that I chose to study the field of Counseling. Throughout my adult life, I have had psychotherapy to work through the struggles of family-of-origin issues. The help I obtained was invaluable. The changes that I made in my life were amazing.

In 2003, after years of study and completing a comprehensive one-year internship as a clinician, I obtained a Master of Arts degree in Community Counseling. As I pursued my studies in the counseling field, I knew that this direction was clearly defining the meaning and purpose of my life. I had been so inspired by the assistance that I received that it became my mission to help others.

I became a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Connecticut May of 2005. During my internship and beyond graduation, I remained working as a clinician for Catholic Family Services in Hartford. I gained tremendous experience working with every population including children, teenagers, couples, families, individuals, and the elderly.

During the next couple of years, I was a fee-for-service clinician for The Pastoral Counseling Center of West Hartford as well as Path Outpatient Services in Hartford. I worked with a variety of populations at these agencies as well. At the same time, I had been seeing some clients in my own private practice.

In January of 2007, I left the fee-for-service positions and decided to create a full-time private practice. I feel that it was all worth the changes that I made in my life back in 1999. I feel totally passionate about the work I do with each and every client.

I specialize in Midlife Transitions and help women and men, in midlife, to unlock and discover their true values and desires in order to turn their emptiness into aliveness.

I have been married to my wonderful husband for 31 years and have two awesome adult children. My son is 26 and my daughter is 22.
